Lisa Faer, FNP, RN

Lisa Faer, FNP, RN

Graduating at the top of her class, Lisa completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Computer Science with plans to continue on to medical school. However, after working intimately as a rehabilitation therapist for children with autism, Lisa realized that the nursing profession was a better fit, as she thrived in environments that allowed her to build therapeutic relationships and spend quality time caring for people. On an academic scholarship, Lisa went on to complete her second degree in nursing and graduated Summa Cum Laude with High Honors from the highly selective accelerated nursing program at the University of Maryland. She then received additional training at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital on one of the most acute Psychiatric Inpatient units in the nation.

Upon her return to her hometown of Piedmont, California, Lisa obtained a part-time adjunct faculty position at the University of San Francisco, teaching clinical rotations at Stanford Hospital. It was through the influence of mentors at Stanford and USF that Lisa developed a knowledge base and passion for the burgeoning field of aesthetic medicine. She began her work in aesthetic nursing at Soña MedSpa, where she served as lead nurse before transitioning into private practice with cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Thomas Munyon. Lisa continued to develop her expertise by receiving her Nurse Practitioner degree and completing extensive training and certifications in areas of facial rejuvenation, skin care, and laser hair removal. Her specialty includes cosmetic injectables (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin & Fillers), Ultherapy, Body Contouring, Intense Pulsed Light rejuvenation, Fractional Skin Resurfacing, Laser Hair Removal and medical grade customized skin care for aging and acne prone skin. She thrives in environments that allow her to build therapeutic relationships and spend quality time caring for people. Lisa believes in a holistic, multi-faceted approach: not only treating the skin directly through state-of-the art technologies, but also addressing underlying health and wellness issues as the key to a youthful, healthy, and beautiful life.

Lisa also serves as a research and clinical education consultant for various aesthetic medical device companies, including Allergen’s CoolSculpting, Merz’s Ultherapy and Myoscience. She is considered an Ultherapy expert and travels nationally to train Physicians on best practices.

As a published researcher, Lisa works closely with Dr. Munyon to investigate and research products and services before offering them to clients. “When a product or technology is new, there is often a lot of hype and pressure to jump on the bandwagon. We believe it is important to differentiate between advertising and proven scientific data. We want to know that the products and services we recommend to our clients will provide them with the superior results that they are looking for, and not just a placebo effect.” Lisa is known for her “gentle touch” and “natural” approach to all procedures, as well as, her passion for listening to her clients and explaining complicated procedures. “Listening carefully to our clients is the best way to develop a personalized treatment plan and to ensure that we exceed their expectations.” Lisa is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Dermatology Nurses Association and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.
