Ernest Bloom, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist, practicing in the East Bay area, and, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

He attended University of California in Davis, Medical School, and, completed his internship at University of California, Irvine/Long Beach. He completed his residency training in dermatology at the University of Montreal.

Dr. Bloom treats both adults and children, and concentrates on providing the best, balanced treatment for a variety of frequently occurring medical, surgical and cosmetic skin conditions, including acne, eczema (atopic dermatitis), itching (pruritus), pigmentation (melasma), wrinkles, skin rejuvenation procedures, rosacea (facial redness), warts, moles, dark skin lesions, skin tags, hair disorders, pediatric dermatology, sweating disorders (hyperhidrosis), contact dermatitis, psoriasis, hives (urticarial), allergies, sun sensitivity, vitiligo, fungal infections, athletes foot, jock itch, hand dermatitis, scarring, and, skin cancer.

He combines modern, scientific and pharmaceutical treatments including laser therapy, chemical peelsBotox, and fillers with holistic treatments – when, and as, appropriate. With this balanced approach, the patient receives maximal relief from his/her skin challenges, and, may experience overall improvement of skin health, as well as, general health.

Dr. Bloom has a long interest in scientific medical research and has published more than thirty scientific papers. One of his special research interests is therapy for hyperhidrosis (excess sweating) using aluminum-free, topical treatments. This is of special interest in patients with toxin/environmental sensitivities/challenges.
