Katharine Ball, MD

Katharine Ball, MD is a board-certified dermatologist with specialist training and expertise in Mohs micrographic surgery, advanced reconstructive techniques, cosmetic procedures and laser surgery. She is also the Director of the Fellowship and Mohs at California Skin Institute. Her work in the Bay Area began with a cutaneous autoimmunity fellowship at Stanford University that cultivated her interest in clinical trials and complex medical dermatology. She then went on to complete her dermatology residency at Stanford. Immediately prior to joining California Skin Institute, Dr. Ball furthered her expertise in Mohs surgery and procedural dermatology through a selective and intense fellowship at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Ball has published numerous peer-reviewed articles covering a breadth of medical and surgical dermatology.

Dr. Ball was born and raised in England. She is fond of hiking, nature, sewing, ceramics and jewelry design. For the past decade she has enjoyed spending her vacation time volunteering at Camp Discovery, a summer camp for children with severe skin diseases.
