Silhouette Instalift®

To help patients target age-related facial contour loss, California Skin Institute providers can administer a procedure called Silhouette InstaLift®. This revolutionary treatment produces immediate results by physically lifting and repositioning the sagging tissues underneath the skin. In some ways, the effects of this treatment are similar to a mid-face lift. However, unlike a surgical facelift, Silhouette InstaLift® treatments are quick and are not associated with long recovery times.

You can schedule your Silhouette InstaLift® consultation by calling a California Skin Institute practice near you.

What is Silhouette InstaLift®?

Silhouette InstaLift® is an outpatient procedure designed to give the cheeks a lifted appearance. The treatment utilizes absorbable sutures that are placed under the skin. The sutures have small cones that gently tug on the sub-dermal tissues to pull them into a lifted position.

What Silhouette InstaLift® Treats

Silhouette InstaLift® was designed primarily to treat the sagging appearance of the cheeks. It’s an important aspect of anti-aging treatment because the cheeks produce a tell-tale sign of aging due to the loss of fatty tissue and migration of sub-dermal tissues downward. This creates a hollow appearance in the face and changes the facial contours.

Using Silhouette InstaLift®, your California Skin Institute provider can move the sub-dermal tissues to a higher position. This creates a lifting effect in the face and also improves contour aesthetics, giving the face a more youthful appearance.

How Long Does It Last?

One of the benefits of Silhouette InstaLift® is that improvement is immediate. When you see your reflection in the mirror after the treatment, you will immediately notice a more lifted appearance.

One reason why this treatment can produce a long-lasting improvement is that in addition to physically lifting and contouring the treatment site, the sutures stimulate fibroblast cells to produce more collagen. This gives the skin more support and produces longer-lasting effects.

What to Expect During Treatment

One of the reasons why this treatment has become so popular with patients is because it’s an outpatient procedure. Only local anesthesia is necessary, and the healing time is much shorter when compared to a surgical facelift.

A typical procedure takes about 30-45 minutes. During treatment, your California Skin Institute provider will use a local anesthetic to improve your comfort, and then make small incisions that will act as pathways for the InstaLift® sutures. Then, your provider will gently guide the sutures into place, with the flexible suture cones acting as anchors that grab onto sub-dermal tissues.

Once the sutures are properly positioned and the cheeks have been lifted, the incisions will be closed.

Does the Procedure Hurt?

When Silhouette InstaLift® treatment is performed by the expert providers at California Skin Institute, the procedure is very comfortable for the patient. The area is numbed with a local anesthetic, so the patient may feel slight tugging or pulling as the resorbable sutures are situated into place, but there is no significant discomfort or pain.

Will I Have a Scar?

California Skin Institute providers work very hard to minimize any appearance of scars with the Silhouette InstaLift® procedure. One way we do this is by using very tiny incisions, which are very difficult to see with the naked eye after the treatment has been completed because they’re as small as a needlepoint. Further, because the incision is so small, any resulting discoloration will heal and fade quickly and become unnoticeable.
