Anand Bhupathy, DO is a board-certified dermatologist with over two decades of experience. His main focus is medical dermatology, rashes and other bothersome skin conditions. He also does skin surgery, primarily focusing on the removal of small growths which either pose risks or make functioning more difficult. During a visit, Dr. Bhupathy aims to address all of a patient’s concerns efficiently by swiftly gathering medical history, offering the patient choices including his preferred option, and collaboratively deciding on the best course of action.

When making treatment decisions, Dr. Bhupathy typically begins with lower-risk medications or treatments. If these prove ineffective he will then move up to the more expensive medications seen in advertisements. He takes care of patients of all ages. He especially enjoys taking care of first responders, active, non-active and retired military personnel, as well as senior citizens.

Dr. Bhupathy completed medical school at the Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences College. Afterwards, he completed a dermatology residency at the Western University of Health Sciences. Then he went on to the University of California, San Francisco, and the University of California, Los Angeles to finish two fellowships in skin cancer and cosmetics. He is a fellow of The American Academy of Dermatology and The American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.

Having completed fellowships in both skin cancer surgery and cosmetics, Dr. Bhupathy possesses comprehensive knowledge in these areas, enabling him to provide impartial guidance despite not performing cosmetic procedures himself. His professional journey, encompassing solo practice and roles within multispecialty groups, has reinforced his belief in the superiority of single-specialty dermatology groups, with a special nod to the excellence exemplified by the California Skin Institute, in delivering optimal dermatological care.

Dr. Bhupathy has been a part of and contributes to the Inland Empire. He has volunteered his time to teach medical students at schools in Riverside and Colton.

Dr. Bhupathy grew up in Brooklyn, West Virginia, and the Midwest. He’s spent the vast majority of his life in California and calls it home. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies, especially those that explore history.
