MiraDry® (Excessive Sweating)
miraDry® Delivers Lasting Results for Underarm Perspiration
California Skin Institute offers miraDry as a treatment for underarm perspiration delivering precisely controlled energy to the region where the underarm sweat glands reside, to reduce sweating in offices throughout California. Because the sweat glands are damaged following treatment, the outcomes are long-lasting. Furthermore, patients can expect to see sweat reduction almost immediately after treatment, with minimal to no downtime.1
miraDry®: A Solution Without Harsh Chemicals, Toxins or Surgery
The miraDry procedure uses only non-invasive technology and is an FDA-cleared and clinically proven treatment to dramatically reduce perspiration, hair, and odor. miraDry offers sweat control without the use of harsh chemicals, toxins or surgery, and is the first and only FDA-cleared device for non-invasive odor treatment.

miraDry® Treatment: What to Expect
The procedure is conducted using a handpiece delivering controlled energy to the region where the sweat glands reside. The treatment is customized for each underarm area with multiple placements of the miraDry handpiece. In order to provide comfort, local anesthesia is administered to the underarms prior to the procedure. The procedure itself tends to last about an hour, and the overall treatment requires multiple procedures that are spaced apart in order to obtain optimal outcomes.
Following the procedure, your doctor may recommend a mild over-the-counter pain medication and the use of ice packs for a few days. Patients typically return to normal activities or work right after the procedure, and exercise may be resumed within several days. Some localized soreness or swelling may occur, but this typically clears within a few weeks.
A reduction in underarm perspiration should be immediately visible. As with any medical procedure, results will vary by person.
What Makes the miraDry Treatment Different?
While other treatment options are designed to temporarily disable the sweat glands, or involve surgery that contains inherent risks, miraDry provides a lasting solution with a non-invasive procedure.
