Stuart MacDonell, MMS, PA-C moved back to his home state of California after practicing dermatology for 21 years in West Virginia and North Carolina. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University. He then served with the Jesuit International Volunteers for 2.5 years in Micronesia as a high school teacher.

Stuart found a keen interest in the medical field while overseas and upon returning enrolled in the Physician Assistant Program at Alderson Broaddus University. Upon graduation, he worked in family practice for three years. He then furthered his education during this time and completed his Master’s Degree. He is a fellow member of the Society of Dermatology of Physician Assistants.

Stuart is excited to be back in his home state closer to his family. He is the proud father of three adult children and is one of ten children himself. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and surfing.

Stuart has a passion for serving the patients of his community and providing excellent patient care. His focus is general dermatology and he loves the specialty. Stuart takes pride in his surgical procedures as well. He has had the honor and privilege of working with well-trained, excellent board-certified dermatologists over the years and is grateful for their guidance and supervision.

He is looking forward to living, working, and serving the community of Santa Cruz.
