Sagging or Puffy Eyelids

Sagging or puffy eyelids are an unfortunate side effect of the aging process. As we age, our collagen and elastin levels slow down in production. When we say elastin, think of elasticity because it’s what makes our snap back in place after it is stretched. When elastin decreases, the eyelids and the skin around the eyes will begin to look saggy or puffy.

Collagen, on the other hand, gives the skin a rigid platform to rest on. As we age, our skin will cave and wrinkle as we lose that rigidity. If you have delicate upper and/or lower eyelid skin, you may see more pronounced issues with this condition.

Sagging or Puffy Eyelids can be treated with Ultrapulse CO2 Laser, a brow lift, and an eyelid lift. At California Skin Institute, we provide the best skincare treatments.
