John L. Peterson, MD, PhD
Dr. John L. Peterson is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Peterson received his degree in medicine from the University of Utah in 1978, while at the same time completing a doctorate in Instructional Psychology from Brigham Young University in 1977. He then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco in 1979. Following his three-year residency in dermatology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., in 1982, he served as Chief of Dermatology at the 121st Evacuation Hospital, Seoul, Korea and Silas B. Hayes Army Community Hospital from 1982 to 1986.
Dr. Peterson has been in private dermatology practice, with an emphasis in cosmetic dermatology, including hair transplantation, since his separation from the Army Medical Corps in 1986.
Dr. Peterson’s affiliations are the American Academy of Dermatology, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Society of Dermatological Surgery, the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology & Aesthetic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, and a founding member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.
He is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Dermatology.
