Kimberly Jerdan, MD, FAAD
Kimberly Jerdan, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained dermatologist with an emphasis on cosmetic dermatologic surgery and lasers.
She completed her undergraduate education from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, with a major in Spanish Literature and minor in Chemistry and History. She then received her Medical Degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford where she received the Adolph A. Rostenberg Jr. Award for Outstanding Student in Dermatology. Dr. Jerdan completed her dermatology residency at University of Illinois College (UIC) of Medicine at Chicago, where she was selected as Chief Resident her senior year of residency training. Dr. Jerdan helped implement the cosmetic procedural training for UIC dermatology her chief year, helping train and educate fellow residents and attendings. Dr. Jerdan continued her training for a year by matching into a Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Fellowship through the American Society for Dermatologic Surgeons, where she trained under Dr. Mark Taylor of Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center in Salt Lake City. She has published numerous articles for peer-reviewed journals and presented the findings at local and national dermatology meetings.
Dr. Jerdan believes in a synergistic approach to the practice of cosmetic dermatologic surgery by complementing a maintenance program with the latest advances in dermatologic surgery and technology. Dr. Jerdan believes this unique skill set should be done by those trained for this particular artistic eye with an emphasis on natural beauty to make the patient become a more rejuvenated and refreshed version of his or herself. Dr. Jerdan specializes in laser procedures including, but not limited to, facial rejuvenation, vascular birthmarks, feminine rejuvenation, and acne scar surgery.
Dr. Jerdan is a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Society for Dermatologic Surgeons (ASDS), and Women’s Dermatologic Society (WDS). Dr. Jerdan has been the recipient of the WDS and Avon mentorship Award, as well as scholarships for mentorship opportunities from the ASDS and ASLMS.
Dr. Jerdan originally hails from central Illinois with a multi-cultural, bilingual background of Peruvian-influence. When not working, Dr. Jerdan enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband and family, doing yoga, playing tennis, and eating Peruvian food.
