Michele Mak-Fung, MD

Michele Mak-Fung, M.D. is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in adult and pediatric dermatology. She is a native of Hong Kong and fluent in written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). Dr. Mak-Fung is proud to bring her dermatology skills to California Skin Institute where her practice interests focus on pediatric and adult dermatology.

After finishing high school in Hong Kong, she attended the University of Washington and graduated magna cum laude in Chemical Engineering. The following two years were spent pursuing a master’s degree at Johns Hopkins University studying intracranial polymeric drug delivery systems. Next, she attended medical school at Yale University and then stayed at Yale University for an internship in the Department of Internal Medicine and a dermatology residency in the Department of Dermatology. Following the completion of her dermatology training at Yale in 2004, she worked in private practice in Connecticut for one year and then Virginia for four years where she taught dermatology to medical students from the Medical College of Virginia and George Washington University.

Dr. Mak-Fung enjoys seeing both pediatric and adult patients, and she finds it gratifying to address both the medical and cosmetic needs of her patients.

She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Washington DC Dermatological Society.
