Stella Bulengo, MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist, with 30 years of experience specializing in diseases of the skin, hair loss, skin cancer, ethnic skin, laser surgery and skin pathology. Dr. Bulengo is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Dermatopathology and a member within a number of professional societies. She earned her undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she also completed her dermatology residency. Her internship was at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio and her Dermatopathology Fellowship at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Dr. Bulengo is dedicated to helping her patients achieve healthy, youthful skin by providing quality, personalized care. She transitioned from her solo practice in Athens, GA in 2016. Her compassionate, caring disposition and her combined training make her one of the most sought out specialists in the field.

Her background is extensive and includes being a pioneer in clinical research in skin of color and basic science research experience on anti-aging and psoriasis. Dr. Bulengo has contributed several publications in renowned medical journals and is co-author of a chapter in an award winning book: Dermatology for Skin of Color, 2nd ed. She has been an assistant clinical professor and has served on several medical boards. She is currently a board member of the American Society of Dermatopathology.

Dr. Bulengo is a recipient of several honors and awards. She received the President’s Volunteer Service Award and Gold Leader Volunteerism Award from the Academy of Dermatology for her voluntary work in skin cancer prevention screenings in her community, the Free Clinic, Athens, Georgia and charity work in Tanzania. She has appeared on local and national media, was featured in Dermatology World magazine and other news medias as an expert in skin of color and hair loss, and as a public service for awareness and early detection of skin cancer and melanoma.

She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, walking, dancing, piano, music, philanthropy, art and mentoring medical students.
