Swati Kannan, MD, FAAD
Dr. Swati Kannan is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. Dr. Kannan specializes in skin cancer and reconstructive surgery of the face and body, as well as aesthetic treatments such as injectables and anti-aging. She believes in optimizing outcomes by integrating the highest standards of beauty with evidence-based science. She approaches patients as a whole when customizing a treatment plan to address their skin concerns.
Dr. Kannan graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with the highest honors in biomedical engineering and received her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her dermatology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan where she was recognized as Resident Teacher of the Year and worked at UCLA for two years as an assistant professor teaching dermatology residents. Subsequently, Dr. Kannan received Mohs fellowship training, along with cosmetic and laser training at the University of California in San Diego.
Prior to joining CSI, she worked at Kaiser for over two years, performing more than 2,000 skin cancer surgeries, while maintaining the highest patient satisfaction rating in the department.
Dr. Kannan has published numerous articles in scientific literature on topics such as laser treatment of scars, Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery. She has presented at various national and local conferences, including American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and American College of Mohs Surgery.
Dr. Kannan is also a certified trainer in Heartfulness Meditation. In her free time, she enjoys meditating, running, kickboxing and traveling.
