Clear + Brilliant® Laser
When you visit California Skin Institute for a laser skin treatment, one of our expert medical providers will take the time to carefully assess your skin, the presence of wrinkles or fine lines, the severity of any hyperpigmentation, any acne breakouts, and your overall skin care needs. Such a careful assessment of your skin is a vital step in devising an appropriate laser treatment regimen because it allows our providers to select the best laser technology for your needs. Further, California Skin Institute providers are able to use the detailed information about your skin to expertly calibrate the laser wavelengths for the most appropriate treatment. For example, some of our patients have benefited significantly from the Clear+Brilliant® Laser, which can provide meaningful outcomes with minimal downtime.
How the Clear+Brilliant® Laser Works
The Clear+Brilliant® Laser is a non-ablative laser that improves skin elasticity and texture by delivering heat to the treatment area.1 Unlike skin resurfacing lasers which vaporize skin cells, this particular laser doesn’t destroy cells outright. Instead, it causes micro-damage to specific areas of the skin by heating up some of the structures within skin cells.
This microdamage activates the body’s natural healing processes, which remove the damaged cells and produce additional collagen in the treatment area. The benefit of this approach is that side effects are minimal, and there’s virtually no downtime after treatment.
What the Clear+Brilliant® Laser Treats
Because the Clear & Brilliant® Laser is designed to stimulate the body’s regenerative processes, California Skin Institute providers can use this device to address a number of issues.
For example, some California Skin Institute patients have undergone this procedure to treat light acne scars and the associated hyperpigmentation. Because of its skin tightening properties, the Clear+Brilliant® Laser can also reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, thus creating a smoother skin texture.
Although this laser is less aggressive than an ablative laser used for skin resurfacing, it also produces fewer potential side effects, like severe inflammation or severe skin peeling. Therefore, it may be a better option for those with mild acne scars, shallow wrinkles and mild hyperpigmentation.
Clear+Brilliant® Laser with Permea Handpiece
The Permea handpiece can be added to your Clear+Brilliant® Laser treatment to enhance results by improving the appearance of brown spots and pigmentation over the course of your Clear+Brilliant® Laser treatments.
Is Clear+Brilliant® Laser Safe?
Yes, this laser was designed to be safe. Further, California Skin Institute providers are highly trained laser treatment professionals who have vast experience in performing procedures with Clear+Brilliant® Laser and other lasers.
How long do Clear+Brilliant® Laser Results Last?
Typically, 3-5 treatment sessions are needed with the Clear+Brilliant® Laser to achieve the best outcomes. This technology was designed to rejuvenate the skin with minimal downtime, and therefore, more treatment sessions are needed to achieve the best outcomes.
After the initial set of treatments, follow-up laser treatments may be performed at intervals of 2-3 months in order to help maintain results.
What to Expect During Treatment
When you visit California Skin Institute for a Clear+Brilliant® Laser skin treatment, your provider will apply a numbing cream to reduce any potential discomfort. Special protective eyewear will also be provided to you in order to keep your eyes safe.
Once the treatment begins, your provider will gently move the laser applicator across the treatment area. During this laser treatment, some patients feel slight discomfort and a sensation similar to a rubber band hitting the skin. However, the vast majority of patients tolerate this procedure very well.
Clear+Brilliant® Laser Side Effects
The side effects from Clear+Brilliant® Laser treatment are very mild and include slight redness and irritation and mild skin peeling. However, these symptoms are typically not severe enough to require time off work or avoidance of social events.
