Thigh modification or Thigh Lift procedures vary depending on the amount of fax and/or skin laxity to be corrected. Excess fatty fullness in the upper inner thighs is very common with even early aging, so that the inner thighs can bulge and touch one another. This is most commonly corrected simply with liposuction, even in the presence of some skin looseness. When the skin is significantly loose, skin tightening is required, using an incision that is nicely concealed within the inner thigh crease.
The skin that is lifted needs to be attached to firm tissues in the inner thigh crease so that there is no downward pull on any structures. After extensive weight loss, the amount of skin to be removed can be significantly larger.
If there has been extensive weight loss in the thigh region, a vertical incision may need to be made on the inner aspect of the legs from the groin crease to above the knee in order to tighten the skin and reshape the leg.
